What Language Are You Speaking?

There was a couple times just the teens went to church on Wednesday night. We would take turns driving. One night Hubby drove his Mustang.....yes he was 16 and had a Mustang! haha. His sister Oreo didn't go that night, so it was just Hubby, Preacher and myself. When Hubby dropped us off at the house he got out of the car (Preacher knew that Hubby liked me) so Preacher just proceeded to the house. I was on the phone with a friend while she had a 3 hour drive home and I was trying to keep her awake. haha. So I paused outside on the steps to talk to her. Hubby paused before he got back into his car...then he drove off. I thought it was a bit weird. My friend on the phone had to call her brother so I hung up and went inside. When I got on the computer Hubby had sent me another email:) He asked if I heard what he said before he got in his car. I said "No, I didn't hear what you said but I saw you pause. I didn't realize you said anything though."
He said "oh, well I said Good night, Beautiful."
I thought I was gonna die for sure! lol. I wanted to tell the world but we weren't ready to just yet. haha.
Here is another cute little mysapce message between me and Hubby when we had just found out we liked each other....
ME- And when are you leaving me for the marines?
Hubby- well, Ill never "leave" you but either when I'm 18 or 19 I'm goin straight in or goin to college.
ME- as long as you are sure you wont leave me then I'm fine:)
Hubby- look at this way when i die ill ask God if I can be your guardian angel lol.

Total sweetheart:) Oh and I forgot to mention this in my last post but it's just too cute and funny to not say. Before I knew Hubby even liked me, he had only had myspace for a couple weeks (me as the top friend) haha. He put this post on there....
Истинная Красота
I had NO idea what it meant and at the time I didn't even think of finding an online translator. So I let it go until I saw him. I had talked to his sister Oreo about it and we simply couldn't figure it out. haha. So on the way to CB to got o youth group I remember Bee was driving, Preacher was sittin in the passenger seat, Hubby was in the back behind Bee, Oreo in the middle, and I was behind Brad. Me and Oreo asked Hubby what the comment meant and he wouldn't tell us. We spent that whole night asking him for clues about it. But he wasn't going to give any. He wouldn't even tell us what language it was. So I let it go and stopped trying and figured if it was important enough he would tell me eventually. :)
So after we told each other we liked one another he asked if I had figured out what that comment said. I told him I had kind of forgotten about it and no I hadn't figured it out. He told me he posted it and then the whole time that Wednesday night when me and Oreo were trying to figure it out he was really nervous anytime we would get close to guessing the language. He said he posted it hoping I would look it up and get it cause then I'd know he liked me. But he said he changed his mind when he found out his sister was helping me. haha. I'm guessing he didn't want her to know.
Anyway, He wrote me and gave me a link to a online translator. He told me it was Russian (which I had guessed cause he loves Russians) haha. So I copied the post and entered it into the translator and about cried my eyes out when I read it! It's amazing how much only 2 words can mean! Here's what it translates.....
True Beauty!
WOW! I couldn't believe Hubby went through all that translating and finding the perfect words. haha. That's when I knew he was the one for me! :)
Stay tuned for some more great stories!
Thanks for reading!

Friends? Love? Myspace?

So the emails started. We would talk through emails a lot. It got to the point that if I didn't get to talk to him at least once a day I started having a nervous break down. lol. Ok, it wasn't that bad, but you get the point. We were best friends. Then one day when we got back from a Wednesday night youth service, I went home to check myspace.... Hubby was on and had sent me a message. I was confused when I opened it, at that time I didn't even think of him as more than a friend. I hadn't thought about it though because I knew Hubby and he wasn't the type to be interested in girls so I had decided to not like him as more than a friend so I wouldn't end up with a broken heart. However, the email he sent me that night got me to thinking.
He asked me for "help" (unfortunately we don't have his first initial email) but it basically said he had a crush on this girl and he wasn't sure if she liked him, and that he didn't know how to tell if a girl liked him or not (he still doesn't know when a girl is flirting with him, lol) and he wanted my help because he wasn't sure if she liked him as just a friend or more. Or if perhaps she thought of the relationship as a brother/sister type relationship.
I didn't think anything of it at the time and so I replied telling him girls are strange and shouldn't tried to be figured out. lol. Something like that anyway, and that he should just wait it out for a bit because she would more than likely do something to give herself away. haha.
I couldn't sleep that night. The thought of him liking someone else was scary. I didn't know he was capable of liking a girl as more than a friend. lol. I thought we had cooties. As I thoguht about it I realized I liked him more than I was admitting. I wasn't telling anyone either because I KNEW I wasn't the girl he was talking about! I couldn't be! And I didn't want to fall head over heals for him when I knew he liked someone else. But I couldn't deny the feeling. So I decided it was time to act! And the following messages is what took place.....
From me, dated 3/13/2007

Drivers Ed: True Friendship Begins!

Oh Drivers Ed! I love looking back on this time and talking to Hubby about it! We love to compare stories as to what we were both thinking at that time. It's interesting because like a lot of girls, I get really really nervous when I'm around a guy I have a crush on.... I didn't realize at that time that I liked Hubby as more than a friend (thank God) but Hubby liked me! My mom would usually drive us there and pick us up when it was over. Me and Hubby picked each other as "driving buddies" so we literally spent a lot of our summer together that year (2006)
We talk about it now and hubby always talks about a time that he said he always kicks himself in the head for. A couple of the kids in class were joking around about me and Hubby, trying to decide if we were brother/sister or bf/gf. One time asked Hubby (I was sitting right in front of him so I could hear) and he immediately said "NO" because he didn't want me to know he liked me. He says he felt so stupid because in a way he wished he wouldn't have answered to see what I would have done. lol. He also says every time we would walk to class he wanted to ask me out but was always to scared...finally when he mustered up enough courage to ask... 2 girls from class ran up and snatched me away to do their normal "girl gossip of the day talk" and he never got courage enough for the remainder of Drivers Ed.
We have so many memories that i wouldn't trade for the world! That summer started a life long friendship! I was so comfortable around Hubby and that's rare enough, but it's outstanding that I was comfortable DRIVING in front of him! lol. We both got A's, I believe. The funniest moment was when our teacher took us to a Cemetery to practice our backing up skills! hubby went first and moved perfectly through the Cemetery without hitting a single headstone! however, I was NOT good at backing up! I got in and started out slowly and yet somehow managed to get so close to a barbed wire fence I almost scraped the paint off the mini van! Then when I tried reversing it I almost ran over a headstone.*
It was nerve racking because I was certain Teacher was going to fail me, but hubby made it bearable! He got quite the laugh out of it though, and still gets a kick out of it. But at least I could parallel park correct the FIRST time! We aren't sure why I can't back up through a Cemetery but I can parallel park perfect. Hubby was the opposite! He couldn't parallel park right the first time! So we both have funny things to remind us of our youth:)
We were still driving to CB every Wednesday night. When I would get home after youth group I would usually check my myspace and email before going to bed. Some nights I couldn't because me and Preacher didn't know the password to log onto the computer (dial up) so one of our parents had to log us on...and when I got in trouble I usually got grounded form the internet. Anyway, I remember one night after youth, we dropped Princess and Hubby off at their house and when I got home I checked my myspace.....I was on for a little while checking emails and what not. When I go back to my home page to realize I have a new Friend Request. I clicked on the link to the page of the friend and a bunch of USMC stuff popped up. That's when I realized Hubby had created a myspace. I added him and as I looked closer at his page I realized I was the first person he added. I didn't think anything special of it at the time because we were becoming very close friends..... and that's when the emails started! ;)
Stay Tuned!

*Note: Never realized that they put the big headstones in the MIDDLE of the Cemetery and the smallest ones on the outside. It made it VERY difficult to back up in a mini van! I'm pretty sure I ran over a few small headstones that were about 3 inches tall. OOPS!

The start of a friendship, or more?

It all started when I was working at hy-vee. I started working there when I was 14 and I loved my job! I live in a small town so I know pretty much all the customers. I loved it when a friend or family member came in...it just brightened up my day. Occasionally Oreo and her parent(s) would come in and we would talk for a bit, then they'd leave. It made work seem enjoyable. You never knew who you were going to see. All of a sudden I didn't see Oreo come in with her parents anymore. Instead, Hubby was the one coming in to shop with them. I never really thought about it at the time. But he would always make me smile and laugh! He always made it a point to find me too. He would do this hilarious wave and I thought he was just being funny. Both my and hubby's parents quit going to church in Shen so we were in search of a new church home. We had visited Council Bluffs A/G a couple times. But we didn't feel connected at the time. So we stopped going and started attending Clarinda. In the mean time, hubby's parents decided to try out Council Bluffs, they liked it and so they started attending there. Not long after that we realized God didn't want us to stay at Clarinda, we were just using that as a excuse to stay close. My mom had received a scripture and we believed it was going to be used at the church we were suppose to be at. So while we were searching for our new church, we decided to try Council bluffs (CB) again. That's when we heard the scripture. In the Sunday morning church service the senior Pastor used it in his sermon and preached a message me and my family really needed to hear. So we figured that was the church we were suppose to be at! Me and Brad weren't too thrilled becasue from the looks of Sunday morning there weren't too many youth there. So mom said we would drive up to youth group on Wednesday night to check it out. And when we did we knew it was the church for us. Anyway, so my family and hubby's family now attended the same church again! Oreo and hubby wanted to go to Wednesday night functions too but their parents didn't really have a reason to go up there both Wednesdays and Sundays. So my mom would take them with us. That's kind of where it all began for ME. I would hang around hubby more and we became best friends. We would usually go to Taco Bell after service because it was the hot spot....lol. I remember the night I started the struggle of dealing with the thoughts of whether I liked him as just a friend, or more. The guys took one side of Taco Bell and the ladies took the other. I was sitting in the corner against the wall, I don;t remember how it happened but all of a sudden Taco Sauce packets were flying! lol. Hubby had thrown a packet at me and I started throwing them back. For those of you who don't know, Taco Bell taco sauce packets have funny sayings on the front. Me and Hubby snatched a pen and started re-writing them with funny things....in an essence, we were "passing notes". That night I couldn't determine if I had a crush and me throwing those packets was a way of me flirting....or if he was just a friend and we were just being goofy. I spent the next few months pondering that thought. Then that summer, Bee asked me if I wanted to go to Driver's Ed with Hubby. I told her yes, because I hated doing things alone when I didn't know anyone and the classes were in Essex, so I literally didn't know anyone. lol. I didn't really think Hubby would agree though. I mean I grew up with him trying to always AVOID girls, there wasn't anyway he was going to go for this! But he did! We started Drivers Ed together and that is truly, where it ALL began!S

Two Beginnings.....

So I decided to keep everyone up to date with things, I should start blogging. So I think I will just start at the beginning, which is a very good place to start!
As you probably know, or have figured out by now, I am married to a Marine. Life is alright for now. But first, let me tell you our story.
Me and Hubby (what i shall call him) have known each other for over 15 years. I was 5 and he was 4 when we met. My parents were the Kids Pastors at the same church Hubby and his parents attended. That's how we first met. He has a sister I shall call Oreo, we were best friends. My mom had an in home daycare, Hubby and Oreo started coming to daycare everyday since both their parents worked. My brother whom I shall call Preacher, Me, Oreo, and Hubby became best friends. The boys would hide and spy on us, while us girls did "womanly" things. We often played "Princess and rescuer" together. Me and Oreo would dress up in my play dresses and Preacher and Hubby would fight off the evil villains to save our lives, little did I know that it would be real life someday! Hubby often got on my nerves. now that I am older, I had hoped he didn't remember how much I disliked him, but he does. We would sit across from each other at the table during lunch and I would just glare at him. lol. Or when my parents would be off visiting my other brother whom I shall call Trumpkin, my parents would let us stay with friends, since it was usually over the weekend. We often picked Hubby and Oreo to stay with. The guys would hide out in hubby's room where they did Lord knows what. Oreo and I would hide out in her room where we would play with barbies and listen to music. Soon we got bored with that though. So we joined forces. The guys would rig boobie traps in Hubby's room, where Oreo and I had to try to divert the attack when we entered the room. And we did the same for the guys, in Oreo's room. The guys usually won. So many many memories. I am not sure when Hubby and I realized we liked each other as more than friends (or enemies) lol. But I know that it wasn't planned or expected. But this is just the beginning. I will write more later :) So stay tuned.....
